Parties for Girls

Throwing a party for girls can really vary and is mostly dependent upon the age of the child who’s birthday it is. When they are at pre-school or the early years at primary, you will probably have a party for all their classmates and friends. If they are not lucky enough to be able to invite all their friends there will, at this age, probably still be an equal mix of boys and girls. They haven’t got to that ‘banish the boys’ from my party age yet! You’ll probably find that you do end up having a party at some point in one of those kids fun warehouse type venues or a play barn. What the girls really like to do is be left alone to experiment with lots of make-up, do their nails and style their hair. After all that pampering they’ll probably be ready to crash in front of the TV and watch a girlie DVD. Craft Parties

You can usually find somewhere in most towns to take the girls to where they can do activities like a craft centre or a pottery painting shop. At a pottery painting shop they can usually choose a plain piece of pre-made pottery and decorate and paint it themselves and then after you have all gone hoe the pottery gets fired in the shop and a couple of days later you can pick up their works of art as a permanent reminder of the party. You will still need to give out party bags for girls so they can have something to take away immediately after the party, so why not choose something like ‘ Stick and Glitter’ for them.

If pottery isn’t really her thing then like the pamper parties, you can usually find a person that will come to your house and bring all the craft equipment with them. Just remember if you are going to do a craft party at home you will need to cover the floor or carpet and make sure you have enough table top space for all the girls to work on altogether. You will need lots of craft paper, glue, and things to stick on paper or you could do a sewing party and get them to make a simple soft toy. If you are going to do this yourself just make sure you have cut out all the fabric pieces before hand to avoid accidents with scissors and to save time.

Cinema Party

Girls also like going to the cinema with their friends especially if you are lucky enough to have a great blockbuster film just opened at the time of your party. If you plan to do this as a party treat just make sure you pre-book the tickets before hand and don’t just turn up and leave it to chance. You may be left with a group of very disappointed girls or your group split up in different rows. Another word of advice would be to stock up on your sweets and snacks before hand from the supermarket unless you are prepared to take out a second mortgage and pay cinema prices.
